Hi! I'm super pleased to announce I'm now offering maternity, newborn and small people shoots at my freshly opened studio at Stonham Barns, near the Owl Sanctuary - you could come and make it a day out for all the family or simply relax; prices start from £200 for 5 images on a USB and a free 10"x8" mounted print of your choice* (bet you think there's small print... nah, just another offer)

*£50 booking fee to secure your place which can be redeemed against framed prints should you wish to purchase - absolutely no pressure to buy.  Lunch is included and unlimited tea, coffee, soft drinks for yourselves and other little ones.  Nappies, wipes, feeding cushion, somewhere to recline and put your feet up, snooze too if you'd like.  All while I soothe your bundle of beautifulness to sleep and capture your special memories.

“This is when special memories begin.” - Tanya Simpson

Newborn photography is one of the most special types of photography next to weddings (I sure do love a wedding!).  I find it's the next natural way to work with my couples; celebrating the birth of your little one; two become three or sometimes more if you've already got a little one.

For the past 9 months you've been growing your own little miracle.  Those cute sleepy smiles, tiny eyelashes, little hands grabbing onto fingers.  This sleepy, snuffly, cuddly stage is so fleeting - your baby will never be this little and new again.  This is when special memories begin.

For many parents, being able to capture this gone-to-soon stage is a dream come true, a unique event never to be replicated.  My job is to create gorgeous images for you to look back on and remember the baby your child once was.  This all takes place in my purpose built baby studio in Stonham Barns, Suffolk where I have full facilities and a luxurious, cosy and warm environment - to aid baby to sleep and to give Mummy and Daddy a break.

The best age to capture these images is while your baby is between 5 and 14 days old, although before 10 days is optimum.  This is because as your little bundle gets older, they can start to become more alert and their muscle tone starts to develop.  This in turn can begin to make it difficult to keep them in a deep sleep while curled into the gorgeous newborn poses most parents wish for.

Newborn photo shoots usually last between 2 and 3 hours, sometimes longer.  This gives plenty of time for feeding and settling baby between poses.  By carefully positioning your baby for poses during the shoot lets baby get used to my touch and smell and helps them feel comfortable and relaxed with me.

I aim to get a range of different images from the posed blanket shots to using various props and baskets.  I have a wide chalice of different fabrics and luxury materials to choose from if you wish.  If you'd like to be in any images, please just let me know.  Even though many new parents aren't always feeling their best, I always encourage them to get a least one image with baby - after all, your new baby will never be so tiny in your arms again.  If you have any other children who you would like to be included, they are welcome too.

I advise parents to book in as soon as they know they'd like to have their baby photographed.  I can take bookings any time from your 20 week scan.  If you book with me while pregnant, I can usually guarantee your session before baby is 10 days old. On holding, I'll pencil you in the diary for your due date, then you just need to let me know when baby arrives.  Once they are here, we can organise a date to suit for the session.

Head over and have a look at my gallery or my blog to see more of my work - if you're thinking of booking me and would like to just chat first, then that's great! I have a pretty fun style, I do become part of your special day in so many ways, it's great that you can be assured you've made the right choice by speaking with me, and then if you're happy, book an appointment! We get to sit down and discuss your special day in more detail!

I can't wait to hear from you and meet your new bundle of beautifulness! Have a look on the Contact page for how to reach me.

Height – 5'3" (I come with a stepladder so don't worry! - even at the studio I have one on standby)
Volume – at the studio? Nice and quiet, but I still like to talk to Mummy and Daddy about how precious your little bundle is
Dress – for heat is my motto! It gets HOT HOT HOT in the studio, also no jewellery or perfume - super important
Personality –  I've been described as part of the entertainment more than once - in the most lovingly way!
Interesting fact? – All babies poo and wee, everywhere and they particularly like my clothes.  It's part of what I do, please don't apologise if your little one does this, I have a big basket on standby so I can finish up and put some washing on - it's all, as they say, part of the service
Statement that I live by? – “Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!” - Hunter S Thompson

In the studio I'm relaxed, it's all about baby.  I have nappies and wipes to hand; you should be able to feel as though you don't have to pack, just put yourself and baby in the car, I have everything sorted the other end.  I even have milk in case you run out (if you're bottle-feeding of course!).  No problem about worrying about little people, bring them along - just bring what they love doing.  I have it at covered - juice, biscuits, snacks and lunch.  Relaxed and fun is the name of the game.
